A man suffers severe burns across his face in a liquid air explosion, leaving his face and head completely wrapped in bandages. Since then, his relationships with those around him have turned cold and distant, and believing he has lost his wife's love, he enlists the help of a skilled doctor to craft an elaborate mask, successfully obtaining a "different face"—that of a stranger. He then approaches his wife disguised as a complete stranger and embarks on a perverse masquerade of seducing her.
