A black man is murdered in an elevator at a luxury hotel in Tokyo, leaving behind the word 'Stoha' and a poetry collection by Saijo Yaso. Fashion designer Kyoko Yasugi and her son appear and disappear along the investigative trail. Detective Muneyori travels to the United States to trace the black man's past. The unexpected relationship between Kyoko and the black man, as well as the connection between the American detective and Detective Muneyori, comes to light.
