ジャン＝リュック・ゴダールが1965年に発表し、ヌーベルバーグの金字塔的作品として語り継がれる代表作。 「ピエロ」と呼ばれるフェルディナンは、退屈な結婚生活から抜け出したいという衝動に駆られ、偶然再会した昔の恋人マリアンヌと一夜を過ごす。翌朝、見知らぬ男の死体を見つけた2人は逃避行を始めるが、やがてマリアンヌはフェルディナンに嫌気がさし、ギャングと通じてフェルディナンを裏切る。 2016年にデジタルリマスター＆寺尾次郎氏による新訳版が公開。2022年および2026年に2Kレストア版で公開。

A masterpiece by Jean-Luc Godard, released in 1965 and revered as a cornerstone of the French New Wave. Ferdinand, called 'Pierrot,' is driven by an urge to escape his boring married life and spends a night with his former lover Marianne, whom he meets by chance. The next morning, finding a dead stranger, the two go on the run, but Marianne eventually tires of Ferdinand and betrays him by colluding with gangsters. A digitally remastered version with a new translation by Jiro Terao was released in 2016. A 2K restored version was released in 2022 and 2026.
