An unconventional crime suspense film by the Coen Brothers, laced with black humor. In snow-covered Fargo, Minnesota, car salesman Jerry, drowning in debt, plots to have his wife Jean kidnapped to extort a ransom from her wealthy father. But when the two hired kidnappers shoot a police officer and a witness, the case spirals out of control. Winner of multiple film awards, including the Academy Awards for Best Original Screenplay and Best Actress.
