「CURE」「カリスマ」など話題作が続く黒沢清監督の「回路」（00）以来2年振りの新作。TV「サトラレ」などで人気のオダギリジョー、浅野忠信、藤竜也の3人が初共演。工場で働く雄二が、唯一心を許せる存在は同僚の守だけ。しかし、守はある日、大切に育てていたクラゲを雄二に残して、突然、姿を消す。呆然とする雄二の前に、守の父親が現れ、雄二は彼とともに暮らすようになる。

Yuji Nimura spends a quiet, monotonous daily life with his coworker Mamoru Arida at the same moist towel factory. Yuji is reckless and struggles to get along with others. Seeing this, Mamoru one day proposes two signals that only the two of them can understand and tries to enforce them. Around that time, Yuji begins to take an interest in the highly venomous 'sea wasp' jellyfish that Mamoru keeps. One day, Mamoru entrusts the jellyfish to Yuji and suddenly disappears. Mamoru is imprisoned as a suspect in the murder of the factory owner and his wife. From then on, Yuji, though bewildered, begins caring for the jellyfish as if possessed by something.
