笹本祐一の人気SFライトノベル「ミニスカ宇宙海賊」をテレビアニメ化し、2012年1～6月に放送された「モーレツ宇宙海賊（モーレツパイレーツ）」の劇場版。政府発行の「私掠船免状」を持つ合法的な宇宙海賊の女子高生・加藤茉莉香は、学業や宇宙ヨット部の部活動、喫茶店でのアルバイト、そして宇宙海賊船「弁天丸」の船長と多忙な日々を送っていた。3年生への進級が間近となった春休みのある日、豪華客船での海賊営業の仕事を請け負った茉莉香は、高名な亜空間ダイバーである無限博士の息子・無限彼方と出会う。オープニングテーマはテレビシリーズ版に続き「ももいろクローバーZ」の「猛烈宇宙交響曲・第七楽章『無限の愛』」を起用。監督は「機動戦艦ナデシコ」の佐藤竜雄。

The theatrical film version of the TV anime "Mouretsu Pirates," which aired from January to June 2012, based on Yuichi Sasamoto's popular SF light novel "Mini-Skirt Space Pirates." Marika Kato, a high school girl who is a legitimate space pirate holding a government-issued "privateer's license," leads a busy life juggling her studies, club activities in the space yacht club, a part-time job at a café, and her role as captain of the space pirate ship "Bentenmaru." One day during spring break, just before she is about to advance to her third year, Marika takes on a pirate business job aboard a luxury liner and meets Kanata Mugen, the son of the renowned subspace diver, Dr. Mugen. The opening theme, following the TV series, is "Mouretsu Uchuu Koukyoukyoku Dainanagakushou 'Mugen no Ai'" by Momoiro Clover Z. The director is Tatsuo Sato, known for "Martian Successor Nadesico."
