ブリティッシュ・ロックの黄金期を牽引したバンド「ザ・フー」の全盛期をとらえた音楽ドキュメンタリー。 1964年のデビューから78年までの代表曲のライブパフォーマンスを中心に、プロモーションフィルムやインタビュー映像、さらに32歳で夭逝した伝説的ドラマー、キース・ムーンが亡くなる約3カ月前の78年5月にシェパートン・スタジオで撮影された最後のパフォーマンスも収録。本国イギリスではキース・ムーン死後の79年、ザ・フーのアルバム「四重人格」を原作とする映画「さらば青春の光」と同時公開された。メンバーのジョン・エントウィッスルが音楽監督を務めた。 日本では長らく未公開のままだったが、2025年9月に全曲歌詞字幕付きのHDレストア版にて劇場初公開。

Alongside The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, The Who led the golden age of British rock and continued to innovate the genre as a superband. This rock documentary masterpiece features live performances of their greatest hits from 1964 to 1978—a period when they were unable to tour Japan at their peak—along with promotional films and interviews. Among the many historic scenes, the film notably features Keith Moon, the legendary genius drummer, in his final full-bodied performance, filmed at Shepperton Studios in May 1978 specifically for this production—a truly precious treasure.
