Let Him Rest in Peace
After learning that his old friend Sakaguchi had attacked the president of Shimogata Construction and been arrested, Shindo returned to a small port town in Okinawa. Shimogata Construction was in charge of the town's redevelopment and had been harassing and threatening Sakaguchi to force him to sell his hotel. Shindo stayed at the hotel, the "Free Inn," and began investigating the incident. Meeting Shimogata's development chief Takabatake and Detective Tokuda, who was colluding with Shimogata, Shindo uncovered the truth: Sakaguchi had stormed Shimogata Construction to rescue his kidnapped son, Ryuta. Shindo also learned that Sakaguchi was suffering from cancer and had only a few months to live.
