エリック・クラプトンが2004年に発表したロバート・ジョンソンのカバー・アルバム「ミー＆Mr.ジョンソン」のレコーディングセッションおよびライブに向けてのリハーサルセッションをとらえたドキュメンタリー作品。 ブルースロックの礎を築いた伝説的ミュージシャン、ロバート・ジョンソンを敬愛するエリック・クラプトンは、2004年3月、全曲ジョンソンのカバーで構成されたアルバム「ミー＆Mr.ジョンソン」をリリースした。本作は同アルバムに未収録の、イギリス、テキサス、カリフォルニアの全4カ所で行われたライブパフォーマンスを収録。1937年にロバート・ジョンソンがレコーディングに使用した聖地「508 パーク・アベニュー」での演奏をはじめ、バンド編成・デュオ・弾き語りスタイルの独演、さらにクラプトンが自身のキャリアにおけるジョンソンからの影響について語る姿やリハーサル風景などを映し出す。 日本では、エリック・クラプトンのライブ＆ドキュメンタリー作品を連続上映する「クラプトン・フェスティヴァル」にて2026年8月に劇場公開。
A documentary capturing the recording sessions and rehearsals for Eric Clapton's 2004 cover album 'Me and Mr. Johnson', as well as preparations for live performances. In March 2004, Eric Clapton, who deeply admires the legendary musician Robert Johnson who laid the foundations of blues rock, released 'Me and Mr. Johnson', an album consisting entirely of Johnson covers. This film includes live performances from four locations across England, Texas, and California that were not included on the album. It features a performance at '508 Park Avenue', the sacred site where Robert Johnson recorded in 1937, along with performances in band format, duets, solo acoustic renditions, and footage of Clapton discussing Johnson's influence on his career and rehearsal scenes. In Japan, it is scheduled for theatrical release in August 2026 as part of the 'Clapton Festival', a series of screenings of Eric Clapton live and documentary works.
