独自の世界を追い求めたドイツの孤高の映画監督ローランド・クリックが、1970年に手がけたクライムアクション。閉鎖された鉱山デッドロックの監督官ダムは、荒野で行き倒れになっていた男と大金が入ったジュラルミンケースを見つける。デッドロックには元娼婦のコリンナ、その娘と思われる口のきけない美少女ジェシーがおり、言いようのない緊張感に包まれていたが、キッドはそこで傷を癒していく。数日後、そこへキッドの仲間で非情な殺し屋サンシャインが現れ、ダムをいびって金を奪っていく。サンシャインは単身逃げようとするが、キッドとジェシーが罠を仕掛けていた。登場人物はわかずか7人、劇中の舞台はアメリカだがイスラエルの砂漠で撮影されたドイツ映画で、公開当時ドイツ国内で批評家や同時代のニュー・ジャーマン・シネマの監督たちからは批判されるが、興行的には成功を収め、カルト映画として語り継がれた。音楽を伝説的ロックバンド「CAN（カン）」が担当。2021年に日本初公開が実現。
A crime action film directed in 1970 by Roland Klick, the reclusive German filmmaker who pursued his own unique vision. Dam, the superintendent of the closed Deadlock mine, finds a man collapsed in the wilderness along with a metal suitcase full of money. At Deadlock are Corinna, a former prostitute, and Jessie, a beautiful mute girl who appears to be her daughter; the atmosphere is filled with an indescribable tension, but Kid recovers there. A few days later, Sunshine, Kid's partner and a ruthless killer, appears, torments Dam, and takes the money. Sunshine tries to flee alone, but Kid and Jessie have set a trap. The film features only seven characters, and although set in America, it was shot in the Israeli desert. A German film that was criticized by critics and contemporary New German Cinema directors upon release but was commercially successful and has been passed down as a cult film. The music was handled by the legendary rock band CAN. Its first Japanese release was realized in 2021.
