「情事」「夜」「太陽はひとりぼっち」の「愛の不毛」3部作などで知られるイタリアの巨匠ミケランジェロ・アントニオーニが1955年に手がけた長編第3作。トリノを舞台に、偶然出会った女性5人の不安定な関係性を独自の映像表現で描き、第16回ベネチア国際映画祭銀獅子賞を受賞した。 ローマを本拠とする高級洋装店に勤めるクレリアは、トリノにオープンする支店の支配人として同地にやってくる。ある夜、宿泊先のホテルの隣室で、自殺未遂を図って気を失っている女性ロゼッタを発見する。このことをきっかけにクレリアは、ロゼッタや彼女の友人モミナたちと友情を深めていくが……。 原作はチェーザレ・パベーゼの小説「孤独な女たちの中に」。出演は「埋れた青春」のエレオノラ・ロッシ＝ドラゴ、「情事」のガブリエレ・フェルゼッティ、「映画に愛をこめて アメリカの夜」のバレンティナ・コルテーゼほか。日本では1964年に劇場初公開。2026年8月、アントニオーニ初期5作を集めた特集上映「ミケランジェロ・アントニオーニ レトロスペクティヴ 愛の不毛、彷徨える魂」にて、2K修復版で公開。
The third feature film by Italian master Michelangelo Antonioni, known for the 'trilogy of arid love' including L'Avventura, La Notte, and L'Eclisse, made in 1955. Set in Turin, it depicts the unstable relationships of five women who meet by chance through his distinctive visual style, winning the Silver Lion at the 16th Venice International Film Festival. Clelia, who works at a high-end dress shop based in Rome, arrives in Turin as the manager of a new branch opening there. One night, in the hotel room next to her lodging, she discovers Rosetta unconscious after a suicide attempt. Through this incident, Clelia deepens her friendship with Rosetta and her friend Momina... Based on Cesare Pavese's novel "Among Women Only." Starring Eleonora Rossi Drago from "The Golden Coach," Gabriele Ferzetti from L'Avventura, and Valentina Cortese from "Day for Night," among others. First released in Japanese theaters in 1964. A 2K restored version will be shown in August 2026 at the retrospective "Michelangelo Antonioni Retrospective: Arid Love, Wandering Souls," featuring five of Antonioni's early works.
