「欲望の翼」のウォン・カーウァイ監督のもと、レスリー・チャンとトニー・レオンが恋人役を演じ、アルゼンチンを舞台に繰り広げられる男同士の切ない恋愛や人間模様を描いたラブストーリー。 激しく愛し合いながらも別れを繰り返してきたウィンとファイは関係を修復するためイグアスの滝へ向かうが、途中で道に迷って言い争い、そのままケンカ別れしてしまう。その後、ブエノスアイレスのタンゴバーでドアマンとして働いていたファイのアパートに、傷ついたウィンが転がり込んでくる。仕方なくウィンを居候させるファイだったが、ケガから回復したウィンはファイの留守中に出歩くように。そんな中、転職して中華料理店で働きはじめたファイは、同僚の青年チャンと親しくなる。 第50回カンヌ国際映画祭で最優秀監督賞を受賞した。1997年に劇場公開。18年2月、カーウァイ監督の｢欲望の翼｣デジタルリマスター版の公開にあわせて、Bunkamuraル・シネマで特別上映。2022年には4Kレストア版が「WKW4K ウォン・カーウァイ4K」（22年8月19日～シネマート新宿、グランドシネマサンシャイン、シネマシティほか）で上映。

A love story directed by Wong Kar-wai of 'Days of Being Wild,' starring Leslie Cheung and Tony Leung as lovers, depicting the poignant romance and human relationships between two men set in Argentina. Ho Po-wing and Lai Yiu-fai, who have loved intensely but repeatedly broken up, head to Iguazu Falls to repair their relationship, but get lost, argue, and part on bad terms. Later, a wounded Ho Po-wing shows up at the apartment of Lai Yiu-fai, who is working as a doorman at a tango bar in Buenos Aires. Lai Yiu-fai reluctantly lets him stay, but after recovering, Ho Po-wing starts going out while Lai Yiu-fai is away. Meanwhile, Lai Yiu-fai changes jobs to work at a Chinese restaurant and becomes close with a young coworker named Chang. It won the Best Director award at the 50th Cannes International Film Festival. Released in theaters in 1997. In February 2018, it had a special screening at Bunkamura Le Cinema to coincide with the release of the digital remaster of Wong Kar-wai's 'Days of Being Wild.' In 2022, a 4K restored version was screened as part of 'WKW4K' (from August 19, 2022, at Cine Mart Shinjuku, Grand Cinema Sunshine, Cinema City, etc.).
