かいせつ 一般公募した原案をもとに、東宝所属ではない監督として初めて抜擢された大森が脚本も手掛けた、異色のゴジラシリーズ第17作。ゴジラの細胞培養によって生まれたバイオ怪獣・ビオランテとゴジラとの死闘を描く。
The 17th entry in the unique Godzilla series, based on a story submitted through a public call for entries, with Kazuki Omori — the first director not affiliated with Toho to be selected for the job — also handling the screenplay. It depicts the deadly battle between Godzilla and the bio-monster Biollante, born from cultured Godzilla cells.
