A live-action film adaptation of 'Nigero Ojousan' from the short story collection 'Toubou Shousetsu-shuu' by Shuichi Yoshida, author of The National Treasure and Yokomichi Yonosuke, starring King Gnu's Satoru Iguchi. Kota runs a hot spring inn inherited from his parents and lives a modest daily life. One day, noticing a car ahead of him driving strangely on a narrow road, Kota stops out of concern, and the driver turns out to be Maiko Ayukawa, a former idol he has been a fan of since high school. It had been reported that Maiko's husband was arrested for drugs and that she herself had gone missing amid suspicion. Though confused by the unexpected turn of events, Kota resolves to do what he can now for Maiko, who has continued to illuminate his life. The protagonist Kota, who struggles for his 'oshi,' is played by Satoru Iguchi, and the former idol Maiko Ayukawa, Kota's 'oshi,' is played by Mai Fukagawa, a former member of the idol group Nogizaka46 and now an actress, with Kodai Asaka, Aoba Kawai, and Takeo Tanaka in supporting roles. The director and screenwriter is Chihiro Ito, who helmed Iguchi's first starring film, Hitoribocchi ja Nai.
