2020年の長編初監督作「いつくしみふかき」で高く評価された大山晃一郎監督が、囲碁を題材に描いた人間ドラマ。 港町で暮らす上条眞人は偶然テレビで流れていた会見で、囲碁世界チャンピオンのパク・ハンミョンが「日本にライバルがいる」と発言するところを見る。そのライバルは米原沙羅七段だと誰もが思うなか、日本で開催される賞金総額1億円の大会で、パクとライバルの直接対決が実現するのではという期待が高まる。一方、大会番組制作ディレクターの小坂正喜は取材で眞人と出会い、彼がパクと沙羅の幼なじみであることを知る。眞人がオンライン囲碁のチャンピオンだと知った正喜は大会への出場を勧めるが、眞人は過去のトラウマのため、対人で囲碁を打つことができなくなっていた。正喜の奇策により大会への出場を果たした眞人は、強敵たちとの対局を通して、ひとつの真実にたどり着く。 ダンスボーカルグループ「原因は自分にある。」の長野凌大が映画初主演を務め、韓国の人気歌手で俳優のパク・ユチョンが世界チャンピオンのパク、「49日の真実」の星野奈緒が2人の幼なじみの棋士・沙羅を演じる。

Directed by Koichiro Oyama, who won various film festival awards including the Yubari Fantaland Grand Prize for his first feature film "Itsukushimifukaki" (2020). The stage he chose for his next feature film is the world of "Go," which boasts a global population of 46 million. Starring Ryoga Nagano from the dance-vocal group "Genin wa Jibun ni Aru." This marks his first leading role in a film. Park Yoo-chun plays his rival, the world-ranked #1 Go player. Nao Hoshino plays the heroine, a childhood friend and fellow Go player. Other cast members include Kodai Matsuoka, Karei Miyama, Ikkei Watanabe, Yuichi Haba, and Akio Kaneda, a lineup of distinctive and talented performers. The film won Best New Actor for Ryoga Nagano, Best New Actress for Nao Hoshino, and Best New Director for Koichiro Oyama at the Global Stage Hollywood 2025 film festival held in the US in October. Masato Kamijo (Ryoga Nagano), living in a port town, happens to see a press conference on TV where the Go world champion Park Han-myeong (Park Yoo-chun) states, "I have a rival in Japan." While everyone assumes the rival is Sara Yonehara, 7-dan (Nao Hoshino), anticipation builds that Park will enter a tournament in Japan with a total prize purse of 100 million yen, potentially setting up a direct showdown with the mysterious rival. Meanwhile, Masaki Kosaka (Kodai Matsuoka), a TV program director, meets Masato during his research and learns that Masato is a childhood friend of both Park and Sara. Upon discovering that Masato is an online Go champion, Kosaka encourages him to enter the tournament, but it becomes clear that Masato has trauma from playing Go in person due to past experiences. Through Kosaka's unconventional tactics, Masato enters the tournament and takes on formidable opponents. What is the tragic past that befell Masato, Park, and Sara? What secrets are hidden in the tournament? Through his matches, Masato arrives at a single truth...
