長編映画デビュー20周年を迎えた沖田修一監督が、年齢も育った環境も異なる3人の「さとこ」という女性の人生が交差していく様子をオリジナルストーリーで描いた人間ドラマ。 15歳の中井聡子は鼻炎持ちの中学3年生で、学校ではソフト部に所属し、同じ耳鼻科に通う同級生に恋をしている。国語教師から文章を書くよう勧められた彼女は自分の初恋物語に着手するが、初恋相手に対する妄想が暴走してしまう。姪と韓国カルチャーを愛する35歳の西田沙都子は、映画配給会社の宣伝部で働いている。6年目になる不倫が倦怠期を迎えている彼女は、自分の人生を振り返りながら不倫の日々についてつづっていく。55歳の飯島里子は子育てがひと段落し、ようやく自分の時間を持てるようになった。かつて作家になる夢を抱いていたことを思い出した彼女は、自分の初恋の物語をノートに書きはじめる。まったく違う人生を歩む3人の「さとこ」たちだったが、それぞれ自分の人生を小説としてつづるうちに、他人だったはずの3人の物語は少しずつ交差していく。 有村架純が35歳の沙都子役、石田ひかりが55歳の里子役、オーディションで選ばれた姫野花春が15歳の聡子役で主演を務め、聡子の心を揺さぶるミステリアスな国語教師役で吉田羊、沙都子の不倫相手である印刷会社の営業マン役でオダギリジョー共演。さらに筒井道隆が里子の夫役を務め、テレビドラマ「あすなろ白書」から33年の時を経て石田と夫婦役で再共演を果たした。

In this anniversary year, he presents a completely original story of "three Satokos." Satoko Nakai (15), a junior high school third-year with hay fever who is in love with a classmate and belongs to the softball club. Satoko Nishida (35), who loves Korean culture with her niece, works vigorously in the publicity department of a film distribution company, and whose six-year affair has entered a period of stagnation. Satoko Iijima (55), who has finished raising her children and finally has time for herself. Three women named Satoko, each walking completely different lives... When each begins writing her own life as a novel, triggered by events that befall them, the stories of these three who were once strangers gradually intersect—
