This documentary offers an authentic look at the youthful days of four young musicians as they charge full speed toward their dreams. Originally broadcast on BS Asahi in 2011 and recipient of the 49th Galaxy Award, the program has been re-edited for this theatrical release. It carefully portrays the emotional nuances of the four musicians—now active on both domestic and international stages—during their formative years. Music students Taro Uemura (violin), Madoka Sakitsu (violin), Mariko Hara (viola), and Dai Miyata (cello), whose talents were recognized early on, formed the Jupiter Quartet Japan. Through intense practice and the collision of their passions and talents, they grew to be hailed as "Japan’s finest young quartet." With high confidence, they entered the ARD International Music Competition in Munich, the most prestigious challenge for any quartet, only to face elimination in the first round. Experiencing a major setback for the first time in their lives, the four set out on a journey to find a sound that could truly resonate with the world. Following them over a period of four years, the film captures the radiant days of young people devoting themselves wholeheartedly to their craft. Actor and singer Tomoyo Harada serves as the narrator.
