手塚治虫の名作漫画「リボンの騎士」を原案に、過酷な運命に抗うことを決めた少女の闘いを、繊細な世界観と洗練されたアクションで活写したアニメーション映画。 シルバーランドの王女サファイアは、災厄ネルガルに故郷の国を滅ぼされ、絶望の果てに隣国ゴールドランドにたどり着く。つらい過去を抱えながらも、人々の優しさに触れるうちにささやかな希望を見いだしていくサファイアだったが、再び災厄ネルガルが現れる。かつて故郷を灰塵に帰した災厄が、この地をも滅ぼそうとしていることを知ったサファイアは、悲しみの涙を振り払い、剣を手に立ち上がる。 お笑いコンビ「ラランド」のサーヤが主人公サファイア役で長編作品での声優に初挑戦。オムニバスシリーズ「スター・ウォーズ：ビジョンズ」の1編「のらうさロップと緋桜お蝶」や「呪術廻戦」第1期のエンディング映像で注目を集めたアニメーターの五十嵐祐貴が長編初監督を務め、「Fate/Grand Order」「刀剣乱舞 ONLINE」など数々のゲームで人気キャラクターのデザインを手がけてきた望月けいがキャラクター原案、「サイバーパンク：エッジランナーズ」のエンディング映像の監督を務めた米山舞がキャラクター原案協力で参加。リアルとバーチャルを融合させた日韓ガールズグループ「Girls Archives.」が主題歌を担当。Netflixで2026年8月8日から配信。2026年9月4日から2週間限定で劇場公開。

An animated film based on Osamu Tezuka's classic manga "Princess Knight," vividly depicting a girl's fight against a cruel fate with a delicate worldview and refined action. Sapphire, princess of Silverland, loses her homeland to the calamity Nergal and, in despair, arrives in the neighboring country of Goldland. Despite her painful past, she begins to find small hope through the kindness of the people. But Nergal appears again. Learning that the calamity that once reduced her home to ashes now threatens to destroy this land too, Sapphire wipes away her tears of sorrow and rises with sword in hand. Saya from the comedy duo "Lalande" takes on her first voice acting role in a feature film as the protagonist Sapphire. Yuki Igarashi, an animator who gained attention for the "Star Wars: Visions" episode "The Duel" and the ending sequence of "Jujutsu Kaisen" season 1, makes his feature directorial debut. Kei Mochizuki, known for designing popular characters in games like "Fate/Grand Order" and "Touken Ranbu ONLINE," provides the original character designs, with Mai Yoneyama, director of the "Cyberpunk: Edgerunners" ending sequence, contributing as assistant character designer. The Japan-Korea girl group "Girls Archives.," which blends real and virtual elements, performs the theme song. Streaming on Netflix from August 8, 2026, with a limited two-week theatrical release starting September 4, 2026.
