2026年3月に開催された第6回ワールド・ベースボール・クラシック（WBC）での野球日本代表チーム「侍ジャパン」の戦いの舞台裏に密着したドキュメンタリー。 「憧れを捨て、超えること」を誓って挑んだ前回2023年WBCで、激戦の末に見事世界一に輝いた侍ジャパン。「連覇」という大きな期待を背負って臨んだ今大会で彼らを待ち受けていたのは、「勝ち続けるチャンピオンであり続けなければならない」という逃げ場のない重圧だった。王者であり続けるための戦いのなかで、選手たちが何を感じ、どのように戦ったのか。そしてベスト8敗退という結果をどう受け止めたのか。今大会に唯一密着を許された1台のカメラを通して、その舞台裏に迫る。 監督は、これまでも「結束、その先へ　侍たちの苦悩と希望」「憧れを超えた侍たち　世界一への記録」などのドキュメンタリー作品で侍ジャパンに密着取材を続けてきた三木慎太郎。ナレーションを二宮和也、主題歌を稲葉浩志が担当した。Netflixで2026年4月20日から配信。2026年8月14日からイオンシネマ板橋ほか全国の劇場で期間限定公開。

A documentary providing an intimate behind-the-scenes look at Samurai Japan, the Japanese national baseball team, during the 6th World Baseball Classic (WBC) held in March 2026. Having vowed to "discard admiration and surpass it" to win the world championship in a hard-fought battle at the 2023 WBC, the team entered this tournament under the immense pressure of being the reigning champions, facing the inescapable burden of "having to remain the winning champions." The film explores what the players felt and how they fought during their quest to remain on top, and how they came to terms with the result of losing in the quarterfinals. Through the lens of the only camera granted exclusive access to the team for this tournament, the documentary gets to the heart of the action behind the scenes. The director is Shintaro Miki, who has previously made documentaries closely following Samurai Japan, such as "Unity, Beyond: The Warriors' Anguish and Hope" and "The Samurai Who Surpassed Admiration: Record of Becoming World No. 1." Narration is provided by Kazunari Ninomiya, and the theme song is performed by Koshi Inaba. It began streaming on Netflix on April 20, 2026, and had a limited theatrical release nationwide in Japan starting August 14, 2026, including at Aeon Cinema Itabashi.
