漫画家・田村茜による同名コミックを、テレビドラマ「silent」の風間太樹監督が実写映画化し、社会の片隅でひっそりと生きてきた“脇役”たちの初恋をつづったラブストーリー。 人見知りで控えめな性格の女子大学生・田中信子は、“群衆・脇役・主要ではない登場人物”を意味する「モブ」という定義に自分を重ね合わせ、誰か別の主人公たちが輝く世界を遠くから眺めて生きてきた。そんな彼女の視線の先に現れたのは、同じスーパーマーケットでアルバイトする青年・入江博基。入江の自然な心くばりに触れた信子は、次第に彼に惹かれていく。入江との出会いをきっかけに、自らを縛っていた殻を破ろうともがきはじめた信子は、時に厳しい現実を突きつけられながらも、バイト先の仲間たちに支えられて奮闘する。一方の入江もまた、信子の静かな優しさに気づき、その存在をまっすぐに見つめていた。ささやかな日常の積み重ねは、やがて2人に一歩を踏み出す強さを与えていく。 モブ子こと田中信子を「交換ウソ日記」の桜田ひより、彼女が初めて恋心を寄せる入江博基を「ゆきてかへらぬ」の木戸大聖が演じ、信子のバイト先の後輩・安部役で早瀬憩、先輩・篠崎役で唐田えりか、同じくバイト仲間で入江の友人でもある金子役で草川拓弥、新人アルバイト・大野役で荒木飛羽、店長・折原役で古舘寛治が共演。

Director Taichi Kazama, known for the TV drama "Silent," adapts manga artist Akari Tamura's comic into a live-action film, a love story about the first crushes of "supporting characters" who have quietly lived on the fringes of society. Shy and reserved college student Nobuko Tanaka identifies with the term "mob," meaning crowd, extra, or non-major character, and has lived her life watching from afar as other protagonists shine. Then, she notices Hiroki Irie, a young man working part-time at the same supermarket. Touched by Irie's natural thoughtfulness, Nobuko gradually becomes drawn to him. Through her encounter with Irie, she begins to struggle to break free from the shell that has bound her, and while sometimes confronted with harsh realities, she perseveres with the support of her coworkers. Meanwhile, Irie also notices Nobuko's quiet kindness and looks straight at her. The accumulation of small, everyday moments eventually gives them both the strength to take a step forward. Hiyori Sakurada ("The Diary of a Substitute Lie") plays Nobuko, aka Mobuko, and Taisei Kido ("Yukite Kaeranu") plays Hiroki Irie, the object of her first love. The cast also includes Ikoi Hayase as Nobuko's junior coworker Abe, Erika Karata as senior coworker Shinozaki, Takuya Kusakawa as fellow part-timer and Irie's friend Kaneko, Tsubasa Araki as new part-timer Ono, and Kanji Furutachi as store manager Orihara.
