Set in Shinjuku’s Kabukicho district following the closure of the "Toyoko" area, this suspenseful drama follows four displaced youths over the course of a single night as their fates collide in a desperate escape. Marking the feature film debut of 24-year-old rising talent Ren Akiba, the film is a feature-length adaptation of his own short film which won the Grand Prix at the 2nd Tokyo Independent Film Festival. Akiba penned the original screenplay based on his own personal experiences in Kabukicho. Asuka, a high school student who feels she has no place at home or school, travels to Kabukicho drawn by "Tokyo Escape," an autobiographical web novel written by a girl living in Toyoko. There, she happens to meet the author, Hiyori, and the two form an immediate bond. Asuka is introduced to Edo, a protector of the drifters in Toyoko, and Merio, a leader among the local youth. However, after attending a meeting led by Merio and witnessing a shocking reality, Asuka grabs Hiyori’s hand and flees. Their escape earns them the ire of a "han-gure" criminal group, leaving them hunted. Meanwhile, Edo fights to preserve the youths' sanctuary, while Merio makes increasingly dangerous choices in his pursuit of the girls. As the police become involved, the situation spirals toward a rapid climax. The film stars Rio Teramoto as Asuka, Akana Ikeda as Hiyori, Keito Tsuna as Edo, and Nao Takahashi as Merio, supported by Yuya Matsuura, Motoki Fukami, and Honami Sato. Michihito Fujii, director of *The Strangers* and *The Journalist*, serves as executive producer.
