The Mountain
民俗学や呪術を題材にした作品で知られる作家・加門七海が自身の体験をもとに執筆した小説「祝山」を、橋本愛主演で映画化。これまでホラー作品で映画祭受賞などを重ねてきた映像作家の武田真悟が脚本・監督を手がけ、劇場長編デビューを果たす。 スランプに陥ったホラー小説家・鹿角南のもとに、中学時代の同級生・矢口朝子から一通の手紙が届く。そこには、心霊スポットとして知られる廃墟に肝試しに行って以来、説明のつかない異変が起きていると記されていた。新作の題材を求めて朝子や当時の仲間たちと再会した南は、不可解な出来事に巻き込まれていく。調査を進めるうち、一連の異変の背後には、彼らがかつて足を踏み入れた禁忌の山「祝山」の存在があることが浮かび上がる。 主人公・鹿角南を「残穢(ざんえ) 住んではいけない部屋」以来10年ぶりのホラー映画出演となる橋本愛が演じるほか、石川恋、久保田紗友、草川拓弥、松浦祐也、利重剛が共演。
A film adaptation of the novel "Iwaiyama" by Nanami Kamon, an author known for works on folklore and the occult, based on her own experiences, starring Ai Hashimoto. Directed and written by Shingo Takeda, a filmmaker who has won awards at film festivals for his horror works, marking his feature-length theatrical debut. Horror novelist Minami Kano, suffering from writer's block, receives a letter from her middle school classmate Asako Yaguchi. The letter describes unexplainable phenomena that have been occurring ever since she went on a dare to visit a ruin known as a haunted spot. Seeking material for her new work, Minami reunites with Asako and their old friends, and becomes entangled in mysterious events. As the investigation progresses, it emerges that behind the series of strange occurrences lies the forbidden mountain "Iwaiyama" they once set foot on. Ai Hashimoto plays the protagonist Minami Kano, marking her first horror film role in ten years since "Zan: The Haunted Room." The cast also includes Ren Ishikawa, Sayu Kubota, Takuya Kusakawa, Yuya Matsuura, and Go Riju.
