1994年に日本で初めてプライドパレードを実現させた活動家・南定四郎の半生を描いたドキュメンタリー。 現在、日本では40カ所以上でプライドパレードが開催され、パートナーシップ制度も全国へ広がりつつある。その歩みの出発点には、「ゼロ」から「イチ」を切り拓いてきた先人たちの草の根の活動があった。1931年に樺太で生まれ秋田県で育った南定四郎は、22歳で上京し、自分らしい生き方を模索し続けた。1984年、ゲイ解放運動を開始した彼は活動にのめり込み、自らの熱意に身を任せていく。そして1994年、日本初のプライドパレードを立ち上げる。南が主体となって進めた活動は日本におけるプライド運動の礎となったが、次第に彼は独自の信念に固執するようになり、周囲との溝を深めていく。ついに第3回パレードでは大きな反発を受け、南は運動の第一線から身を引くことになる。 時代に翻弄されながらも正義に突き動かされ駆け抜けてきた南が、熱狂の末に何を見つけたのか。本人の証言をはじめ、当時の関係者のインタビュー、報道資料、写真や映像をもとに、その激動の軌跡をたどり、日本におけるプライド運動の原点を描き出す。「沖縄カミングアウト物語」の松岡弘明が監督を務めた。

A documentary depicting the life of activist Teishiro Minami, who organized Japan's first Pride Parade in 1994. Today, Pride Parades are held in over 40 locations in Japan, and partnership systems are spreading nationwide. At the starting point of this progress were the grassroots activities of pioneers who forged a path from "zero" to "one." Born in Karafuto (Sakhalin) in 1931 and raised in Akita Prefecture, Teishiro Minami moved to Tokyo at age 22, constantly searching for a way to live authentically. In 1984, he began the gay liberation movement, immersing himself in activism and following his passion. Then, in 1994, he launched Japan's first Pride Parade. The activities Minami spearheaded became the foundation of the pride movement in Japan, but he gradually became fixated on his own beliefs, deepening the rift with those around him. By the third parade, he faced significant backlash and was forced to step back from the front lines of the movement. What did Minami, driven by justice and swept along by the times, find in the end of his fervor? Tracing his tumultuous path through his own testimony, interviews with people involved at the time, news reports, photos, and videos, the film depicts the origins of the pride movement in Japan.
