脳性まひで寝たきり生活を強いられながらも介助の若者たちと触れ合い、ベッドの上で数々の短歌を詠む遠藤滋さんの姿を記録したドキュメンタリー。監督は、遠藤さんとは学生時代の友人でもあり、1999年にも同じく遠藤さんの日々を追ったドキュメンタリー「えんとこ」を手がけた伊勢真一。脳性まひのため寝たきり生活を送りながらも、自ら介助者のネットワーク「えんとこ」（「遠藤のいるところ、縁のあるところ」の意）を組織した遠藤さん。ベッドの上での生活は35年を過ぎ、障がいも進行していく中、遠藤さんは50代後半から短歌を詠むようになり、心の叫びを言葉に託す日々を送る。そんな彼と介助者たちの心の交流を通して、ありのままの命を生かし合いながら生きる人々の姿を浮かび上がらせる。

This documentary captures the life of Shigeru Endo, who, despite being confined to his bed by cerebral palsy, interacts with young caregivers and composes numerous tanka poems from his bedside. The film is directed by Shinichi Ise, a friend of Endo since their student days, who previously helmed the 1999 documentary *Entoko*, which also followed Endo’s daily life. Despite his physical limitations, Endo organized his own caregiver network called "Entoko" (meaning both "where Endo is" and "a place of connections"). As his disability progressed over more than 35 years in bed, Endo began writing tanka in his late 50s, using poetry to give voice to the cries of his soul. Through the deep emotional connection between Endo and his caregivers, the film portrays people living in a way that honors and sustains life exactly as it is.
