「湯を沸かすほどの熱い愛」の中野量太監督が坂口健太郎を主演に迎えて撮りあげた、日仏共同製作によるヒューマンサスペンス。中野監督が10年ぶりにオリジナル脚本を手がけ、「人を愛すること」「罪と贖罪、赦し」をテーマに、「家族」という幸せの形を追い求めた末に愛する人を殺めてしまった孤独な青年の姿を描き出す。 天涯孤独の身である28歳の西山夕平は、自分の中で決められたルーティンをこなすだけの日々を過ごし、その環境を寂しいとも思わないまま生きてきた。そんな彼の日常は、職場にやって来た新しいパート職員・東浜紗月の存在により一変する。彼女と出会い、生きる喜びを得た夕平の毎日は輝いていく。ある日、夕平は紗月から5歳の娘・朝子を紹介され、彼女がシングルマザーであることを知る。紗月と朝子との生活で、「家族」という幸せの形を初めて知った夕平の心は開放されていくが……。 坂口健太郎が夕平の孤独な青年期から葛藤を抱える40代までを演じ、紗月の娘で夕平の運命を大きく動かす朝子役で早瀬憩、紗月役で堀田真由、幼少期の朝子役で倉田瑛茉、罪を犯した夕平の弁護を担当する弁護士・町村善一役で滝藤賢一、娘の交際相手としての夕平に不信感を抱く紗月の母・道代役で原田美枝子が共演。

A Japan-France co-production human suspense film directed by Nakano Ryota of "Her Love Boils Bathwater," starring Sakaguchi Kentaro. Nakano writes his first original screenplay in ten years, exploring themes of "loving someone," "crime, atonement, and forgiveness," depicting a lonely young man who, in pursuit of the happiness called "family," ends up killing the person he loved. Nishiyama Yuhei, 28, utterly alone in the world, spends his days merely going through his self-imposed routines, never feeling lonely in that environment. His daily life is transformed by the arrival of a new part-time worker at his workplace, Higashihama Suzume. Meeting her, Yuhei gains the joy of living, and his days begin to shine. One day, Suzume introduces Yuhei to her five-year-old daughter, Asako, and he learns she is a single mother. Through life with Suzume and Asako, Yuhei's heart, knowing for the first time the happiness of "family," opens up—but... Sakaguchi Kentaro portrays Yuhei from his lonely youth to his conflicted forties. Hayase Kyō plays Asako, Suzume's daughter who drastically alters Yuhei's fate; Horita Mayu plays Suzume; Kuraba Ema plays young Asako; Takito Kenichi plays Machimura Zenichi, the lawyer defending Yuhei for his crime; and Harada Mieko plays Michiyo, Suzume's mother who distrusts Yuhei as her daughter's partner.
