2018年より講談社「週刊少年マガジン」にて連載され、斬新な設定と個性的でエゴイスティックな登場人物たち、予測不能なストーリー展開で国内外から人気を集めるサッカー漫画「ブルーロック」を実写映画化。 サッカー日本代表は長年の得点力不足を打開するため、極秘プロジェクト「青い監獄（ブルーロック）」を立ち上げる。集められた300人の高校生ストライカーは数々のトライアルを受け、最後に勝ち残った者だけが世界一のストライカーになれるという。その一方で、脱落者は日本代表入りの資格を永久剥奪されるという残酷な条件もあった。日本代表のエースストライカーになりW杯で優勝するという夢を持つ無名の高校生プレイヤー・潔世一は、人生を変えるべく参加を決意する。他の299人の参加者に比べ突出した身体能力を持たない潔だったが、ピッチ全体を見渡す高い空間認識能力とゴールを追い求める強い意志を武器に、熾烈なサバイバルに挑んでいく。 高橋文哉が潔世一役で主演を務め、潔が所属する「チームZ」の蜂楽廻役で櫻井海音、千切豹馬役で高橋恭平（なにわ男子）、國神錬介役で野村康太、チームZの前に立ちはだかる絶対王者「チームV」の凪誠士郎役でK（&TEAM）、御影玲王役で綱啓永、プロジェクトの最高責任者・絵心甚八役で窪田正孝、絵心の右腕・帝襟アンリ役で畑芽育が出演。撮影には日本サッカー協会・Jリーグが全面協力し、元日本代表選手の松井大輔がサッカー監修を担当。

A live-action film adaptation of the soccer manga 'Blue Lock', serialized in Kodansha's 'Weekly Shonen Magazine' since 2018, which has gained popularity both domestically and internationally for its innovative premise, unique and egotistical characters, and unpredictable story development. To overcome the Japanese national team's chronic lack of goal-scoring ability, a top-secret project, the 'Blue Lock (Blue Prison)', is launched. Three hundred high school strikers are gathered and subjected to numerous trials, with only the final survivor earning the right to become the world's greatest striker. However, there's a cruel condition: those eliminated are permanently banned from ever representing Japan. Yoichi Isagi, an unknown high school player who dreams of becoming the national team's ace striker and winning the World Cup, decides to participate to change his life. Lacking the outstanding physical abilities of the other 299 participants, Isagi relies on his exceptional spatial awareness to survey the entire pitch and his strong will to pursue the goal, taking on the fierce survival battle. Takahashi Fumiya stars as Yoichi Isagi. The cast includes Sakurai Kaito as Meguru Bachira (Team Z), Takahashi Kyohei (Naniwa Danshi) as Hyoma Chigiri, Nomura Kota as Rensuke Kunigami, K (&TEAM) as Seishiro Nagi (the undefeated champion Team V), Tsunahiro Keito as Reo Mikage, Kubota Masataka as Jinpachi Ego (the project's supreme leader), and Hatakeyama Mei as Anri Teieri (Ego's right hand). The Japan Football Association and J.League fully cooperated with the filming, and former Japanese national team player Matsui Daisuke served as soccer supervisor.
