「スパイの妻」「クリーピー　偽りの隣人」などで国内外から高く評価されてきた黒沢清監督が自身初の時代劇に挑み、第166回直木賞と第12回山田風太郎賞をダブル受賞した米澤穂信による同名ミステリー小説を映画化。 荒木村重は織田信長の暴虐なやり方に反発して謀反を起こし、有岡城に立てこもる。織田軍に包囲され孤立無援となった城内で、村重は血気盛んな家臣たちを抑えつつ、妻・千代保を心の支えに、城と人々を守ろうと苦心していた。そんな中、城内で少年が殺害される事件が起こり、その後も怪事件が続発する。容疑者は密室と化した城内にいる家臣や身内の誰かで、城外には敵軍、城内には裏切り者という状況に、誰もが疑心暗鬼に陥っていく。追い詰められた村重は、信長の使者として説得に訪れ牢に囚われた天才軍師・黒田官兵衛に協力を仰ぎ、事件の解決に挑む。 城主・荒木村重を本木雅弘、天才軍師・黒田官兵衛を菅田将暉、村重の妻・千代保を吉高由里子、村重の腹心・荒木久左衛門を青木崇高、若手の家臣・乾助三郎を宮舘涼太（Snow Man）、事件の目撃者である狙撃の名手・雑賀下針を柄本佑、村重の隠し刀として暗躍する郡十右衛門をオダギリジョーが演じる。2026年・第79回カンヌ国際映画祭カンヌ・プレミア部門出品。

Acclaimed director Kiyoshi Kurosawa ("Wife of a Spy," "Creepy") takes on his first period film, adapting the mystery novel of the same name by Honobu Yonezawa, which won both the 166th Naoki Prize and the 12th Yamaneko Prize. Murashige Araki rebels against Nobunaga Oda's tyrannical methods and holes up in Arioka Castle. Surrounded by the Oda army and isolated, Murashige struggles to control his hot-blooded retainers while relying on his wife, Chiyo, for emotional support, striving to protect the castle and its people. Amidst this, a boy is murdered inside the castle, followed by a series of strange incidents. With the suspects being the retainers and family members trapped inside the sealed-off castle, and the enemy outside, everyone falls into suspicion and paranoia. Cornered, Murashige seeks help from the genius military strategist Kanbei Kuroda, who was imprisoned after being sent as Nobunaga's envoy to persuade him, and sets out to solve the case. Starring Masahiro Motoki as Lord Murashige Araki, Masaki Suda as the genius strategist Kanbei Kuroda, Yuriko Yoshitaka as Murashige's wife Chiyo, Takao Aoki as Murashige's trusted retainer Kyusaemon Araki, Ryota Miyate (Snow Man) as the young retainer Saburo Inui, Tasuku Emoto as the skilled sniper Sagari Saika who witnesses the events, and Joe Odagiri as Juemon Kori, who operates in the shadows as Murashige's hidden blade. The film was selected for the Cannes Premiere section at the 79th Cannes Film Festival in 2026.
