イラストレーターのナガノが2020年よりX（旧Twitter）にて原作漫画を連載し、「日本キャラクター大賞グランプリ」を3度受賞、22年に放送開始されたテレビアニメもYouTubeでの見逃し配信総再生回数が4億回を超えるなど、数々の社会現象を巻き起こしてきた大人気コンテンツ「ちいかわ」をアニメーション映画化。原作者・ナガノによる完全監修のもと、原作漫画シリーズの中でも特に人気の高い長編エピソード「セイレーン編」を映像化し、とある島を訪れたちいかわたちが繰り広げる大冒険を壮大な音楽と迫力の映像で描き出す。 ある日、広場でくつろいでいたちいかわとハチワレのもとに、顔にチラシを貼り付けたうさぎが現れる。ハチワレがチラシの内容を確認すると、それは「特別な島」への招待状だった。「島でのカンタンな討伐で100倍の報酬をもらおう」「限定島ラーメンに限定スイーツ、甘いもの辛いもの全部実質無料」といった言葉に釣られて島合宿に参加することを決めたちいかわたちは、チラシの内容を怪しがるラッコとともに船に乗り込み、島に上陸するが……。 「ウマ娘　プリティーダービー　新時代の扉」などのCygamesPicturesがアニメーション制作を担当。

Based on the original manga serialized on X (formerly Twitter) since 2020 by illustrator Nagano, the massively popular "Chiikawa" franchise—winner of the Japan Character Grand Prix three times, with its 2022 TV anime's catch-up streams on YouTube surpassing 400 million views—gets an animated film adaptation. Under the complete supervision of creator Nagano, the film adapts the particularly popular long-form "Siren Arc" from the original manga series, depicting a grand adventure of Chiikawa and friends on a mysterious island through epic music and powerful visuals. One day, while Chiikawa and Hachiware are relaxing in the square, a rabbit with a flyer stuck to its face appears. Hachiware reads the flyer, which turns out to be an invitation to a "special island." Tempted by promises of "easy monster subjugation on the island for 100x rewards" and "limited island ramen, limited sweets—sweet and spicy stuff all practically free," Chiikawa and friends decide to join the island camp. Along with a skeptical otter, they board a ship and land on the island, but... CygamesPictures, known for "Umamusume: Pretty Derby - Beginning of a New Era," handles the animation production.
