国民的アニメ「ドラえもん」の長編映画45作目。1983年に公開されたシリーズ4作目「のび太の海底鬼岩城」をリメイク。 夏休みにキャンプの行き先で意見が分かれたのび太たちは、ドラえもんの提案で海の真ん中でキャンプをすることになる。ひみつ道具の「水中バギー」と「テキオー灯」を使って海底キャンプを楽しむのび太たち。沈没船を発見したことをきっかけに謎の青年エルと出会うが、なんと彼は海底に広がる「ムー連邦」に暮らす海底人だった。陸上人を嫌う海底人は、のび太たちを信用することができない。そんな中、海底人が恐れる「鬼岩城」が動き始めたという知らせが届く。 監督は、「ドラえもん」テレビシリーズおよび長編映画版の演出・絵コンテや「劇場版ポケットモンスター　ココ」などを手がけてきた矢嶋哲生。俳優の平愛梨とお笑いコンビ「アルコ＆ピース」が宣伝アンバサダーを務め、本編にもゲスト声優出演。シリーズ初の4D上映が行われる。

The 45th feature film in the beloved national anime series "Doraemon." This film is a remake of the fourth entry in the series, "Nobita and the Castle of the Undersea Devil," originally released in 1983. During summer vacation, Nobita and his friends find themselves divided over where to go camping. At Doraemon's suggestion, they decide to set up camp in the middle of the ocean. Using secret gadgets like the "Underwater Buggy" and the "Adaptation Ray," they enjoy their time on the seabed. However, after discovering a sunken ship, they encounter a mysterious young man named El, who is revealed to be an undersea dweller from the "Mu Federation" that spans the ocean floor. The undersea people, who harbor a deep distrust of surface dwellers, are hesitant to trust Nobita and his friends. Meanwhile, news arrives that the "Castle of the Undersea Devil"—a place feared by all undersea people—has begun to move. The film is directed by Tetsuo Yajima, known for his work on storyboards and direction for the "Doraemon" TV series and films, as well as "Pokémon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle." Actress Airi Taira and the comedy duo "Alco & Peace" serve as promotional ambassadors and make guest voice appearances in the film. This installment also marks the first time a film in the series will be screened in 4D.
