20世紀初頭のパリを舞台に、異国の地でそれぞれの夢を追い求めるふたりの日本人少女の奮闘を、繊細かつみずみずしく描いたアニメーション映画。 1900年代初頭のパリに、それぞれ日本からやって来たふたりの少女が暮らしていた。ひとりは、夫を支えるよき妻となる将来を望まれながらも画家を夢みるフジコ。もうひとりは、武家に生まれナギナタの名手だがバレエに心惹かれる千鶴。かつて横浜で出会ったふたりは、トラブルに巻き込まれたフジコを千鶴が助けたことで、5年ぶりに再会を果たす。千鶴の夢を知るフジコは、同じアパルトマンに暮らす青年ルスランの母オルガがロシア出身の元バレリーナであることを知り、レッスンを依頼する。そんな中、フジコの保護者である叔父が失踪する事件が起こる。 画家を夢みる主人公・フジコ役で當真あみ、バレリーナを目指す千鶴役で嵐莉菜、フジコと出会う青年・ルスラン役で早乙女太一が声の出演。「ONE PIECE FILM RED」「コードギアス　反逆のルルーシュ」シリーズの谷口悟朗が監督を務め、「魔女の宅急便」などのスタジオジブリ作品でキャラクターデザイン・原画を担当した近藤勝也がキャラクター原案を手がけた。脚本は「きみの色」「ヴァイオレット・エヴァーガーデン」の吉田玲子。

Set in early 20th-century Paris, this animated film delicately and vividly portrays the struggles of two Japanese girls pursuing their dreams in a foreign land. In Paris at the turn of the century, two girls who came from Japan live there. One is Fujiko, who dreams of becoming a painter despite being expected to become a good wife supporting her husband. The other is Chizuru, born into a samurai family and a master of the naginata, but drawn to ballet. The two, who met once in Yokohama, reunite after five years when Chizuru helps Fujiko out of trouble. Learning of Chizuru's dream, Fujiko discovers that Olga, the mother of a young man named Ruslan living in the same apartment building, is a former Russian ballerina and arranges lessons for Chizuru. Meanwhile, Fujiko's guardian uncle goes missing. Ami Touma voices the protagonist Fujiko, who dreams of being a painter; Rina Arashi voices Chizuru, who aspires to be a ballerina; and Taichi Saotome voices Ruslan, the young man who meets Fujiko. Directed by Goro Taniguchi of "ONE PIECE FILM RED" and the "Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion" series, with original character designs by Katsuya Kondo, who worked on character design and key animation for Studio Ghibli films like "Kiki's Delivery Service." The screenplay is by Reiko Yoshida of "The Colors Within" and "Violet Evergarden."
