The second part of a two-part theatrical film reconstruction of the TV anime 'Puella Magi Madoka Magica,' which aired in 2011, created a huge sensation, and won numerous awards including the 16th Animation Kobe Award for TV Series, the 11th Tokyo Anime Award at Tokyo International Anime Fair 2012, and the Grand Prize in the Animation Division at the 15th Japan Media Arts Festival. Sayaka, who became a magical girl for the sake of her beloved Kyosuke, becomes consumed by despair upon learning the truth about magical girls and ultimately transforms into a witch. Madoka accepts Kyoko's proposal to try and save Sayaka, but... A dark fantasy depicting the harsh fate of five girls who chose to fight as magical girls in exchange for having just one wish granted.
