2024年の商業映画監督デビュー作「みなに幸あれ」で注目された下津優太監督の劇場公開第2作。組体操という集団行動における人間の行動心理の根底を、独特の世界観でコミカルかつシリアスに描き出す。 家族に問題を抱える女子高校生・愛は、引っ込み思案で自分の意見をうまく主張できない。海外帰りの転校生・優は自分の意見をはっきりと口にするタイプで、日本の学校の協調性を重んじる集団行動になじめずにいた。愛は優のことが気になるが、優は自分を出そうとしない愛に苛立ちを覚えていた。そんなある日、校庭で1人の生徒が四つん這いになったまま動かなくなってしまう。さらにその生徒の横にも同じように四つん這いになる生徒が並びはじめ、巨大な人間ピラミッドが形成されていく。不思議なことに、学校も人間ピラミッドを“良いもの”として参加を勧め、積み重なった生徒たちは一様に穏やかな表情を浮かべている。生徒たちが次々と集まり、ものも言わず従っていくなか、愛もなぜか朦朧（もうろう）となり人間ピラミッドに加わりそうになる。事態はやがて、地域全体を巻き込む集団怪現象へと発展していく。 「ゴールデンカムイ」シリーズの山田杏奈が主人公・愛、「秒速5センチメートル」の青木柚が転校生・優を演じ、集団を導く校長をピエール瀧が怪演。2025年・第29回ファンタジア国際映画祭で審査員特別賞を受賞。

The second theatrical release from director Yuta Shimotsu, who gained attention for his 2024 commercial film debut "May the Lord Be with You". It comically and seriously explores the underlying psychology of human behavior in group activities, specifically through the lens of group gymnastics, with a unique worldview. High school girl Ai, who has family problems, is shy and unable to assert her own opinions. Transfer student Yu, who has returned from overseas, is the type to speak her mind clearly and struggles to fit into the group-oriented, harmony-focused activities of Japanese schools. Ai is interested in Yu, but Yu grows frustrated with Ai's inability to express herself. One day, a student in the schoolyard freezes on all fours. Soon, other students begin lining up beside him in the same position, forming a massive human pyramid. Strangely, the school encourages participation in the human pyramid as a "good thing," and the stacked students all wear serene expressions. As students gather one after another and obey without a word, Ai herself becomes dazed and nearly joins the pyramid. The situation eventually escalates into a collective supernatural phenomenon engulfing the entire region. Anna Yamada (from the "Golden Kamuy" series) plays the protagonist Ai, and Yuzu Aoki (from "5 Centimeters per Second") plays the transfer student Yu. Pierre Taki delivers a bizarre performance as the principal who leads the group. The film won the Special Jury Prize at the 29th Fantasia International Film Festival in 2025.
