A suspense action film directed by Takashi Miike, starring Shun Oguri and Lily James, produced as a Hollywood-Japanese joint project. Based on the 1992 American film "Bad Lieutenant," the story is relocated to Tokyo and reimagined. It depicts a corrupt detective (the "bad lieutenant") played by Oguri and an FBI agent played by James who team up as buddies to confront a conspiracy swirling through the city. Kyoji Yabuki is a detective living in the underworld of Shinjuku's Kabukicho, drowning in drugs and gambling, targeted by yakuza, and even rumored to have killed his partner. While spending his days being chased by debt collectors, a series of bizarre serial murders targeting yakuza occurs. Yabuki launches an investigation, identifies the bodies through their tattoos, and a man named Mitsuru Ishizuka emerges as a suspect. Meanwhile, Yabuki is paired with Gwen, an FBI agent who has come to Japan to search for the missing daughter of the next U.S. president. The murder case Yabuki is investigating and the disappearance Gwen is pursuing become intricately intertwined, eventually revealing a certain conspiracy. The star-studded cast includes Shotaro Mamiya, Shuhei Nomura, Nanase Nishino, Yuka Mukai, Takanori Iwata, Keisuke Watanabe, Hideo Nakano, Jun Murakami, Jun Kunimura, Hiroshi Tachi, and world-famous professional wrestler Liv Morgan. Ado performs the theme song, with Grammy Award-winning world-renowned composer Masanori Takumi participating in the music production.
