LEONIDAS
Leonidas
. Love has no borders. Yet the world makes us play with borders. . Not for hits or trends, but born to deeply move the heart of just one person—the commemorative first work of a film label, 'LEONIDAS,' is finally released! The executive producer is TOH YUSEI, who handled the screenplay, original concept, and in-film song for this work. Junki Tachibana, whose short film 'Unforgettable' has won international film awards in more than 10 countries, serves as director, screenwriter, and editor in his first feature-length work. Through the conflicts and hopes of a young Zainichi Korean man, it quietly and powerfully questions the meaning of 'borders.' Selected for the 47th Moscow International Film Festival and the 2025 Yokohama International Film Festival, this work is not a film meant to compete for glamour. 'To make films that reach the heart, not for commerce'—giving form to that conviction is the starting point of BROADWAY CINEMA. The protagonist Hiro is played by Wataru Monma, who showed overwhelming presence in 'Hard Times' and 'Manji Reverse.' The heroine Aoi is played by Rin Nagata, who has drawn international attention in works such as 'Relativity Nagaya Theory.' Furthermore, accomplished cast members including Atsushi Nakano, Mokutaru, SASHINI, and Kentetsu Asaka round out the supporting roles, giving the story deep richness. Editor Ryuji Miyajima, who has won numerous Japan Academy Prize Best Editing Awards for 'Godzilla Minus One' and 'The Eternal Zero,' participates in editing, realizing world-standard visual quality. Production is handled by creative art company 10NY, with production by Tokyo New Cinema, highly acclaimed internationally for works such as 'The Long Dream of April' and 'Silent Rain.' 'LEONIDAS' is the work that announces the birth of the label, and also the story of the beginning of talents about to take flight. . .
