A new feature film from director José Luis Guerín, who captivated the world with 'In the City of Sylvia' (2007) and was called 'the most outstanding filmmaker in contemporary Spain' by fellow Spanish director Víctor Erice. Despite his sparse output, Guerín continues to create masterpieces that lightly transcend the boundaries between fiction and documentary. This is his long-awaited new film, his first in ten years since 'The Academy of Muses' (2015), now arriving in Japan. The Vallbona district, located on the outskirts of Barcelona, Spain. This place, named 'The Good Valley,' is surrounded by rivers and railway tracks, an isolated land left behind by development, yet it also seems like an ideal paradise blessed with nature so rich it's hard to believe it's near a big city. Here, families who moved in from the mid-20th century live together with a new generation of immigrants who have arrived recently. Although their cultures and lifestyles differ, the children play together in the river, and everyone eats, drinks, sings, and dances well, finding a moment of peace. A new railway expansion plan is proposed for this urban oasis. A residents' information meeting is held, and some people are forced to relocate...
