Ryuichi Sakamoto performed with a full orchestra in Japan for the first time in 16 years at the acclaimed concert "Playing the Orchestra 2013." As an updated version, the 2014 Tokyo concert, which he conducted himself, became "Ryuichi Sakamoto | Playing the Orchestra 2014." At this concert, Sakamoto played the piano while conducting all pieces, performing a diverse repertoire—from YMO-era classics to masterpieces like "Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence" and "The Last Emperor," as well as his film scores—with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra.
