人気劇団「ヨーロッパ企画」の同名舞台を、「踊る大捜査線」シリーズの本広克行監督が映画化した青春SFコメディ。炎天下の夏休み、壊れる前のクーラーのリモコンを取りに行くため、大学生たちがタイムマシンを使って巻き起こす騒動を描く。 とある大学のSF研究会の部室では、猛暑の中、男子学生5人と写真部の女子学生2人がぐったりと夏休みを過ごしていた。前日にクーラーのリモコンが壊れてしまい、うだるような暑さに耐える彼らの前に、突然タイムマシンが現れる。ふざけて乗ってみると、それが本物のタイムマシンであることが判明。盛り上がった部員たちは、まず先発の3人が昨日に戻って、壊れる前のリモコンを取りに行くことにする。ところが、残された部員たちの前に、「2030年から来た」というSF研の後輩が現れる。そのことから、部員たちは過去を変えることの危険性に気づきはじめるが……。 脚本を「ヨーロッパ企画」の上田誠が自ら担当。騒動の中心となるSF研究部の部員・甲本役を「ウォーターボーイズ」などで注目され、これが映画初主演となる瑛太が担当。甲本が思いを寄せる写真部の部員・柴田役を「スウィングガールズ」「亀は意外と速く泳ぐ」の上野樹里が演じた。

Directed by Katsuyuki Motohiro of the "Bayside Shakedown" series, this youth sci-fi comedy is a film adaptation of the popular stage play by the theater group Europe Kikaku. Set during a sweltering summer vacation, the story follows a group of college students who trigger a series of chaotic events when they use a time machine to retrieve an air conditioner remote before it broke. In the clubroom of a university's Sci-Fi Research Society, five male students and two female members of the photography club are languishing in the oppressive heat. Their air conditioner's remote control broke the previous day, leaving them to suffer through the summer. Suddenly, a time machine appears before them. What starts as a joke turns into a discovery: the machine is real. Caught up in the excitement, three members decide to travel back to yesterday to fetch the working remote. However, a junior from the year 2030 suddenly appears before those left behind, leading the group to realize the grave dangers of altering the past... The screenplay was penned by Europe Kikaku’s own Makoto Ueda. Eita, who rose to prominence in "Water Boys," makes his film-starring debut as Komoto, the student at the heart of the commotion. Juri Ueno, known for "Swing Girls" and "Turtles Are Surprisingly Fast Swimmers," plays Shibata, the photography club member and object of Komoto's affection.
