「WEAPONS ウェポンズ」のザック・クレッガー監督が、世界的人気を誇るカプコンのホラーゲーム「バイオハザード」シリーズを新たに映画化したサバイバルホラー。同ゲームシリーズの熱烈なファンであるクレッガー監督が、「もしもゲーム『バイオハザード』の世界に放り込まれたらどうなるか？」をコンセプトにストーリーを再構築。ゲームへのオマージュをちりばめながら、医療品の配達人を襲う地獄のような一夜を描き出す。 医療品の配達人として働くブライアンは、とある病院で「取扱注意」と記された医療バッグを託され、ラクーンシティ総合病院へ向かうことになる。いつも通り車を走らせるブライアンだったが、路上に飛び出してきた血まみれの女に衝突したことから事態は急展開。想像を絶する事態に次々と見舞われ、命がけのサバイバルに巻き込まれていく。 「WEAPONS ウェポンズ」にも出演したオースティン・エイブラムスが主人公ブライアンを演じ、テレビドラマ「セヴェランス」のザック・チェリー、プロボクサーで俳優のカーリー・レイス、「リチャード・ジュエル」のポール・ウォルター・ハウザーが共演。「ジョン・ウィック」シリーズの脚本家シェイ・ハッテンがクレッガー監督と共同で脚本を担当。
A survival horror film in which director Zach Cregger of Weapons newly adapts Capcom's globally popular horror game series Resident Evil for the screen. Cregger, a passionate fan of the game series, rebuilt the story around the concept of "What would happen if you were thrown into the world of the game Resident Evil?" While scattering homages to the games throughout, it depicts a hellish night that befalls a medical supplies delivery worker. Brian, who works delivering medical supplies, is entrusted at a certain hospital with a medical bag marked "Handle with Care" and is to head to Raccoon City General Hospital. Driving as usual, Brian's situation takes a sudden turn when he collides with a blood-soaked woman who darts out into the road. Beset one after another by unimaginable circumstances, he is dragged into a life-or-death survival struggle. Austin Abrams, who also appeared in Weapons, plays the protagonist Brian, with Zach Cherry of the TV drama Severance, professional boxer and actor Kallie Reis, and Paul Walter Hauser of Richard Jewell co-starring. Shay Hatten, a screenwriter of the John Wick series, co-wrote the script with director Cregger.
