ハマスに拉致された娘を救い出すため、分断を超えて奔走するイスラエル系アメリカ人家族の姿を描いたドキュメンタリー。 2023年10月7日の朝。イスラエル南西部の農業共同体ニールオズがハマスの武装勢力に襲撃され、住民約400人のうち4分の1が殺害または人質になるという甚大な被害を受けた。娘リアット・ベイニン・アツィリと夫のアヴィヴをガザへ連れ去られたリアットの父イェフダら家族は、2人を救うため必死の行動を開始。リアットがアメリカ国籍を持つことから、イェフダは人質解放を求めてアメリカ政府に働きかける代表団の一員として訪米するが、人質家族の存在がイスラエル政府による戦争継続の理由として利用されている現実を知り、がく然とする。ネタニヤフ政権に批判的なイェフダが、首相は自身の投獄を免れるために戦争を長引かせていると非難する一方で、批判より救出を優先するべきだと反発する家族や関係者もいる。愛する家族の安全な帰還を望む切実な視点を軸に、政治と歴史、分断された価値観が交錯する複雑な問題を浮かび上がらせていく。 製作には「ブラック・スワン」などの監督ダーレン・アロノフスキーが名を連ねた。2025年・第75回ベルリン国際映画祭で最優秀ドキュメンタリー賞を受賞。

A documentary depicting an Israeli-American family's desperate efforts to rescue their daughter abducted by Hamas, crossing divides. On the morning of October 7, 2023, the agricultural community of Nir Oz in southwestern Israel was attacked by Hamas militants, with a quarter of its roughly 400 residents killed or taken hostage. Yehuda, the father of hostage Liat Beinin Atzili and her husband Aviv, along with his family, begins a frantic mission to save them. Because Liat holds American citizenship, Yehuda travels to the US as part of a delegation urging the American government to secure the hostages' release, but is shocked to realize that the hostages' plight is being used to justify the Israeli government's continuation of the war. While Yehuda, critical of Netanyahu's administration, accuses the prime minister of prolonging the war to avoid imprisonment, some family members and associates push back, arguing that rescue should take priority over criticism. Through the urgent perspective of those longing for the safe return of their loved ones, the film illuminates the complex interplay of politics, history, and divided values. The production includes Darren Aronofsky, director of 'Black Swan,' among its team. It won the Best Documentary Award at the 75th Berlin International Film Festival in 2025.
