18世紀初頭、作曲家ヴィヴァルディがベネチアのピエタ院にバイオリン教師として赴任した実話を題材に、彼の指導のもと才能を開花させていく孤独な少女の成長と、己の才能が評価されることを渇望するヴィヴァルディの内なる野望を描いたドラマ。 1716年、ベネチアのピエタ院。母の姿も愛情も知らないまま育ったチェチリアは、毎晩こっそりベッドから抜け出しては宛名のない母への手紙をつづっていた。ピエタ院から出て外の世界で暮らすには、母が迎えに来るか、貴族と結婚するしかない。そんな中、ピエタ院にバイオリン教師として赴任したアントニオ・ヴィヴァルディは、チェチリアの卓越したバイオリン技術を見いだし、第一バイオリンのリーダーに任命する。チェチリアはヴィヴァルディのもとで厳しい練習に耐えながらバイオリンの腕を磨き、いつしか2人は心を通わせるようになる。しかし、ピエタ院がチェチリアの結婚相手に定めた将校が戦争から戻り、やがて事件が起こる。 イタリアのテレビドラマ「アート・オブ・ジョイ」で注目されたテクラ・インソリアがチェチリア、「眠れる美女」のミケーレ・リオンディーノがヴィヴァルディを演じた。監督・脚本を手がけたのはイタリアを代表するオペラ演出家で、ミラノ・コルティナ冬季オリンピックの開・閉会式でクリエイティブディレクターを務めたダミアーノ・ミキエレット。

A drama based on the true story of composer Vivaldi's appointment as a violin teacher at the Ospedale della Pietà in Venice in the early 18th century, depicting the growth of a lonely girl whose talent blossoms under his guidance, and Vivaldi's inner ambition, craving recognition for his own genius. Venice, 1716, at the Ospedale della Pietà. Cecilia, raised without knowing her mother's presence or love, secretly slips out of bed every night to write letters to her mother with no address. To leave the Pietà and live in the outside world, her mother must come for her, or she must marry a nobleman. Amidst this, Antonio Vivaldi, arriving as a violin teacher, discovers Cecilia's exceptional violin skill and appoints her as the leader of the first violins. Under Vivaldi, Cecilia endures rigorous practice, hones her violin skills, and they gradually grow close. However, the officer the Pietà has chosen as Cecilia's husband returns from war, and an incident soon occurs. Tekla Insolia, noted for the Italian TV drama 'The Art of Joy,' plays Cecilia, and Michele Riondino of 'The Sleeping Beauty' plays Vivaldi. The film is directed and written by Damiano Michieletto, a leading Italian opera director who served as creative director for the opening and closing ceremonies of the Milan Cortina Winter Olympics.
