太平洋戦争末期の沖縄戦における慶良間諸島の住民や、朝鮮半島から連行されてきた軍属や慰安婦たちの「玉砕」の真実を明らかにしていくドキュメンタリー。太平洋戦争で米軍が最初に上陸を目指した沖縄県の慶良間諸島では、日本軍が島の住民に集団自決（玉砕）を命じ、スパイ容疑による虐殺や飢餓なども含め、多くの住民の命が失われた。また、慶良間諸島には朝鮮半島から約1000人の若者が軍属として、21人の少女たちが慰安婦として連行されていた。在日コリアン2世の朴壽南（パク・スナム）監督が、2006年から08年にかけて取材した証言の記録と、20年前に撮影し、これまで未公開だったフィルムをつなぎあわせて完成させた。タイトルの「ぬちがふぅ（命果報）」は、島とともに生まれ変わる「命の幸せ」という沖縄に伝わる言葉から。
