遊び盛りの12歳なのにひとりも友だちがいないオスカーは、隣の家に引っ越してきたエリに初めての恋をする。ぼさぼさの黒髪に青白い顔をしていて、いつも夜にしか姿を現さないエリは、知れば知るほど謎めいていた。オスカーと同じ12歳だというのに自分の誕生日さえ知らないのだ。 オスカーがエリと出会った同じ頃、むごたらしい殺人事件が続発し、街には不穏な空気が流れる。そんな中オスカーは重大な秘密を知ってしまう。それは、エリがずっと昔から12歳だったという衝撃の真実。エリは町から町へと移り住みながら人間の血を吸い、200年も生きながらえてきたヴァンパイアだったのだ…。

Oscar, a 12-year-old in the prime of playfulness but with not a single friend, falls in love for the first time with Eli, who moves in next door. With messy black hair and a pale face, Eli only ever appears at night, and the more Oscar learns about her, the more mysterious she becomes. Though she claims to be the same age as Oscar, she doesn't even know her own birthday. Around the same time Oscar meets Eli, gruesome murders begin occurring in succession, casting an uneasy air over the town. In the midst of this, Oscar discovers a grave secret: the shocking truth that Eli has been 12 years old for a very long time. Eli is a vampire who has survived for 200 years, moving from town to town and drinking human blood.
