米イルミネーション制作の「怪盗グルー」シリーズから誕生した人気キャラクターのミニオンズを主役に据えた長編アニメ「ミニオンズ」シリーズの第3作となるアドベンチャーコメディ。 最強最悪のボスを求めて旅を続けるミニオンズは、夢あふれる映画の都ハリウッドにたどり着く。ひょんなことから映画スタジオに入り込んだ彼らは、自分たちでモンスター映画を作ろうと張り切り、本物のモンスターを召喚しようと試みる。最初に現れたのは想定外の小さな緑色のモンスターだったが、やがて超危険なモンスターたちが次々と街に解き放たれ、ハリウッドは大パニックに陥る。それに加えて仲間割れも発生し、ミニオンズたちにかつてないピンチが訪れる。 監督は「ミニオンズ」「怪盗グルー」シリーズのピエール・コフィン。脚本はイルミネーション制作のアニメ「ペット」シリーズを手がけてきたブライアン・リンチと、コフィンが共同で担当。日本語吹き替え版では、映画監督マックス役を松平健、新たなボス候補ドート役を千葉雄大、ドートと恋に落ちるデビー役を鈴木愛理、謎多きモンスターのグーミー役を山寺宏一が務め、お笑いコンビ「バッテリィズ」のエースと寺家が、個性的なモンスターのフィリップス役、ハワード役に起用され、声優初挑戦を果たした。そのほか、歌手のLiSAもハリウッド女優役で吹き替え版キャストに名を連ねる。

The third installment in the 'Minions' animated film series, an adventure comedy featuring the popular characters born from Illumination's 'Despicable Me' franchise as the main protagonists. The Minions, continuing their quest for the most powerful and evil boss, arrive in Hollywood, the city of dreams. Getting into a movie studio by chance, they eagerly decide to make their own monster movie and attempt to summon a real monster. The first to appear is an unexpectedly small green monster, but soon, extremely dangerous monsters are unleashed upon the city one after another, throwing Hollywood into chaos. Adding to the mayhem, a rift forms among the Minions themselves, putting them in an unprecedented crisis. Directed by Pierre Coffin, known for the 'Minions' and 'Despicable Me' series. The screenplay is co-written by Brian Lynch, who worked on Illumination's 'Pets' series, and Coffin. In the Japanese dub, Matsudaira Ken voices film director Max, Chiba Yudai voices the new boss candidate Dott, Suzuki Airi voices Debbie, who falls in love with Dott, and Yamadera Koichi voices the mysterious monster Goomy. Comedy duo 'Batterys' members Ace and Ie are cast as the unique monsters Phillips and Howard, marking their voice acting debut. Additionally, singer LiSA joins the dub cast as a Hollywood actress.
