A Spanish film that delicately portrays the story of a woman living in a world without sound and her family. Ángela, who is deaf, and her husband Héctor, who gently supports her, communicate through the irreplaceable language of sign language. Ángela works in a pottery workshop, surrounded by the comforting smell of clay and trusted colleagues, living a quiet and peaceful life. However, a certain 'happy event' begins to gradually shatter her daily life. As she wavers in her sense of alienation, Ángela tries to grasp the 'true happiness' that flickers between the silent world and the world outside... Directed by emerging filmmaker Eva Libertad, who also works as a playwright and sociologist, this film is based on her highly acclaimed 2021 short film 'Sorda.' Starring Miriam Garlo, a deaf actress and Libertad's real sister, the film reflects the director and her sister's long-standing personal experiences, capturing the subtle misunderstandings between deaf and hearing people and the different feelings of alienation each holds. It won the Panorama Audience Award and the Art Cinema Award at the 75th Berlin International Film Festival in 2025, as well as the Golden Biznaga (Best Film), Audience Award, Best Actress, and Best Actor at the 28th Málaga Film Festival in Spain.
