「ライダーズ・オブ・ジャスティス」や「愛を耕す人」「アフター・ウェディング」の脚本などでも知られるデンマークのアナス・トマス・イェンセン監督が、これまでにも数々の作品でタッグを組んだマッツ・ミケルセンを主演に迎えて描いたヒューマンドラマ。 強盗事件で服役していたアンカーは、出所後、事件の際に大金を隠した兄マンフレルと15年ぶりに再会する。しかしマンフレルは隠し場所を忘れているばかりか、自身をジョン・レノンだと思い込むようになっていた。2人は隠した大金の入ったバッグを探す旅に出るが、その道行きはやがて、それぞれが自分自身の在り方を見つめ直す旅へと変わっていく。 記憶を失い自分をジョン・レノンと思い込んでいるマンフレルをミケルセンが演じ、風変わりで独特なキャラクター像を体現する。弟アンカー役には、同じくイェンセン監督と何度もタッグを組んできたニコライ・リー・コスが扮する。2025年のベネチア国際映画祭アウト・オブ・コンペティション部門でワールドプレミア上映され、本国デンマークでは同国の実写映画の歴代興行収入記録を更新する大ヒットを記録した。

Danish director Anders Thomas Jensen, known for writing "Riders of Justice," "The Good Life," and "After the Wedding," delivers a human drama starring his frequent collaborator Mads Mikkelsen. After serving time for a robbery, Anker is released and reunites with his brother Manfred, who hid a large sum of money during the heist, for the first time in 15 years. However, Manfred not only has forgotten the hiding place but also believes he is John Lennon. The two set out on a journey to find the bag of hidden money, but the trip gradually transforms into a journey of self-reflection for both of them. Mikkelsen plays Manfred, who has lost his memory and believes he is John Lennon, embodying this eccentric and unique character. Anker is played by Nikolaj Lie Kaas, another frequent collaborator of Jensen's. The film had its world premiere in the Out of Competition section of the 2025 Venice International Film Festival and became a massive hit in its native Denmark, breaking the country's all-time box office record for a live-action film.
