2021年の長編デビュー作「Playground 校庭」で注目されたベルギーのローラ・ワンデル監督の長編第2作で、小児科病棟に入院した4歳児とその母親の処遇をめぐって繰り広げられる一夜のドラマを、彼らに寄り添おうとする看護師の視点から描いたヒューマンサスペンス。 とある病院の小児科センターに、左腕を骨折した4歳の男の子アダムが入院する。栄養失調で痩せこけた彼は発育が遅れており、骨がもろくなっている。裁判所は移民でシングルマザーのレベッカがアダムに適切な食事を与えていないと判断し、彼女の面会を制限する命令を下す。自身もシングルマザーである看護師長ルシーは、息子と引き離され親権を失うことを恐れるレベッカに寄り添おうとするが、レベッカの軽率な行動と、上司や同僚からのプレッシャーにより追い詰められていく。 母子を救いたい気持ちと病院が従うべき司法制度との間で板挟みになり葛藤する看護師ルシーを「CLOSE クロース」のレア・ドリュッケール、孤立したシングルマザーのレベッカを「あのこと」のアナマリア・バルトロメイが演じる。製作にはベルギーの名匠ジャン＝ピエール＆リュック・ダルデンヌ兄弟が名を連ねた。2025年・第78回カンヌ国際映画祭批評家週間のオープニング作品として上映された。

The second feature from Belgian director Laura Wandel, who gained attention with her 2021 debut 'Playground', is a human suspense drama depicting one night's events surrounding a 4-year-old boy hospitalized in a pediatric ward and his mother, told from the perspective of a nurse trying to support them. Four-year-old Adam is admitted to a pediatric center with a broken left arm. Malnourished and underdeveloped, his bones are brittle. The court rules that Rebecca, an immigrant single mother, has not been providing Adam with proper nutrition and issues an order restricting her visits. Nurse manager Lucie, herself a single mother, tries to support Rebecca, who fears losing custody and being separated from her son. But Rebecca's reckless actions and pressure from superiors and colleagues push Lucie into a corner. Léa Drucker ('Close') plays nurse Lucie, torn between her desire to save the mother and child and the judicial system the hospital must follow. Anamaria Vartolomei ('Happening') plays isolated single mother Rebecca. The film is produced by Belgian masters Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne. It opened the Critics' Week at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival.
