Based on the global bestseller "The Taster" written from the testimony of German woman Margot Wolk, this drama portrays the fate of women forced by the Nazis to be Hitler's food tasters. It captures the horrors of war from a female perspective and the shifting relationships among the women who share their daily lives as tasters. In 1943, near the end of World War II, Rosa flees the bombing of Berlin and waits for her husband's return from the front in a Polish village, close to the forest where Hitler's Wolf's Lair headquarters is located. One day, Rosa is ordered to taste Hitler's food before he eats, and along with other young women, she is forced under SS guard at gunpoint to consume the meals. They endure the torment of sampling the finest dishes prepared for Hitler in a life-threatening situation. In July 1944, a coup attempt to assassinate Hitler at the Wolf's Lair plunges the war into further chaos. Elisa Schlott, star of the Netflix series "The Empress," plays Rosa, with Max Riemelt of "The Matrix Resurrections" co-starring as an SS officer. Italian director Silvio Soldini, known for "Emma's Eyes" and "Love in Venice," directs.
