本作が長編初監督となる台湾出身のウー・ファン監督が、ベルリンで偶然出会った個性的な中国人ダンサー・XiXi（シィシィ）との絆を描き、2人の女性のみずみずしい生の在り様をとらえたドキュメンタリー。 台湾からヨーロッパに留学していたウー・ファン監督は、中国人のコンテンポラリーダンサー・XiXiとベルリンで出会う。自由な鳥のように踊るXiXiの姿に強烈に惹かれたファン監督は、彼女の日常を撮影しはじめる。ダンサーとしてヨーロッパを放浪しながら自由な魂を探す旅を続けるXiXiの姿は、ファン監督の目には羽ばたくことを恐れぬ野生の鳥のように美しく映った。その一方で、XiXiは元夫メデリックと連絡を取りながら、たまに会うことを許されている娘・ニナに惜しみなく愛情を注いでいた。やがてファン監督のカメラは、XiXiの人生に潜んだ過去の深い傷をとらえはじめる。そしてそれはファン監督自身が家族のトラウマと向き合うきっかけとなっていく。 Hot Docsカナダ国際ドキュメンタリー映画祭2024にてEmerging International Filmmaker Awardを受賞。

This documentary, the feature debut of Taiwanese director Wu Fan, captures the bond she forms with the unique Chinese dancer XiXi, whom she met by chance in Berlin, portraying the vibrant lives of two women. While studying in Europe from Taiwan, director Wu Fan meets XiXi, a Chinese contemporary dancer, in Berlin. Deeply drawn to XiXi, who dances like a free bird, Wu Fan begins filming her daily life. XiXi's journey, wandering Europe as a dancer in search of a free soul, appears beautiful to Wu Fan's eyes, like a wild bird unafraid to take flight. At the same time, XiXi lavishes love on her daughter Nina, whom she is allowed to see occasionally while staying in touch with her ex-husband Mederic. Eventually, Wu Fan's camera begins to capture the deep wounds hidden in XiXi's past. This becomes a catalyst for Wu Fan herself to confront her own family trauma. The film won the Emerging International Filmmaker Award at the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival 2024.
