Péro, a restaurant waiter in a certain town, gets into an argument with the arrogant Lord Groumon and makes a bet: "I'll travel around the world in eighty days. If I fail, I'll become Groumon's slave." Pursued by time, Péro continues his arduous journey with a father-and-son mouse duo and Carter, the restaurant's cook, but is obstructed by Dr. Garigari, Lord Groumon's henchman, and the mysterious beauty Susanna.
