聴覚に障がいのある3人の若者たちの変化と成長をみずみずしく描いた香港発の青春映画。 20代のソフィーは3歳の時に聴覚を失い、人工内耳を装用することで「聞こえる人」として“普通”の生活を送ろうとしている。一方、ジーソンは生まれながらのろう者として、手話話者であることに誇りを持って生きている。アランは人工内耳装用者で、手話と口話のバイリンガルだ。手話禁止で口話教育を推進するろう学校で出会ったジーソンとアランは、お互いの環境の違いを認識しながらも、親友のまま大人になった。やがて、人工内耳を推奨するアンバサダーとしてアランとソフィーが出会うが、人工内耳の推進イベントでソフィーが語った「科学が発展すれば、この世からろう者はいなくなる」という言葉にジーソンが激怒してしまう。 「作詞家志望」「黄昏をぶっ殺せ」のジョン・シュッインがソフィーを演じ、パンサー・チャンによる主題歌「What If」の作詞も担当。「狂舞派」「狂舞派3」で高く評価されたアダム・ウォン監督がメガホンをとった。2024年・第61回金馬奨にて最優秀主演女優賞（ジョン・シュッイン）を受賞。2025年・第20回大阪アジアン映画祭ではスペシャル・メンションを贈られた。

A Hong Kong youth film vividly depicting the changes and growth of three young people with hearing impairments. Sophie, in her 20s, lost her hearing at age 3 and uses a cochlear implant to live a "normal" life as a "hearing person." Jason, born deaf, lives proudly as a sign language user. Alan, also a cochlear implant user, is bilingual in sign and spoken language. Jason and Alan met at a deaf school that banned sign language and promoted oral education; despite recognizing their different circumstances, they remained close friends into adulthood. When Alan and Sophie meet as ambassadors promoting cochlear implants, Jason becomes furious at Sophie's statement at a promotion event: "If science advances, there will be no deaf people in this world." John Shiuin, known for "Aspiring Lyricist" and "Kill the Twilight," plays Sophie and also wrote the lyrics for Panther Chan's theme song "What If." Directed by Adam Wong, highly acclaimed for "The Way We Dance" and "The Way We Keep Dancing." Won Best Leading Actress (John Shiuin) at the 61st Golden Horse Awards in 2024, and received a Special Mention at the 20th Osaka Asian Film Festival in 2025.
